I see that Pat is once again proposing a regressive tax system that discriminates against the less wealthy and/or poor. |

Just how much do those vociferous liberals contribute to the poor.... other than just talk. Do they, aside from their taxes, pledge a portion of their income to the poor? I'd suspect that the way they point fingers, I'm thinking maybe 15 or 20% of their gross income is pledged to the poor. Pledged and delivered. That would certainly give plenty of room for finger pointing. |

Why should anyone have to give to the poor? With the proper taxing and spending structure they will have jobs |

This liberal spends a good deal of time and money working with Lions International. I have often asked for others on these forums to tell us to what community organizations they belong and how those organizations help the poor. I have yet to get a straight response from those calling themselves "right wingers." |

I don't consider my self a "right or left" winger . I belong to the breakfast Lions , the elks lodge , and the Shriners. We do what we can to help the poor people in the area , but if they aren't willing to work at helping themselves , we don't. |

Why is it that you (and wanderer) feels that you have to belong to an organization in order to be of service? Organizations are fine but they also have their bureaucracies. I belonged to several in my younger days but found that much of their time was self social. Look at all the money donated/pledged to the Haiti relief effort (approximately $1 Billion).... little ever got there. And, everyone pays (Federal) taxes, or at least 50% pay income taxes. What I'm saying is that liberals (Democrats) cry out for the poor on this forum and as one of their national mantras, as if they go above and beyond those on the right (Republicans and wealthy) in giving of their time and money for the less fortunate, which I doubt is even close to being true. It's another slogan just as calling the right "racists" for not agreeing with Obama's policies. |

I don't feel as tho I have to belong to any orginization. I joined because of the comraderie (If that's the proper term ) and I like the folks that make up the membership. Is that a problem ? |

Not a problem here. It's just that "comradery" is a "self social" term and by itself is not necessarily suggestive of being contributory to the poor. Not many of the real poor that liberals speak of (liberals like Robert Reich and every liberal politician) belong to those kinds of organizations. Their "comradery" is with folks like themselves.... poor folks. They group together and what they discuss (when they do discuss) involves how to live within our "great society" system that was designed for them and has been up and running since the 60s. And it's working (the great society system) because the membership in that "organization of the poor" has grown in numbers by leaps and bounds in it's better than half century reign. So, regarding the growing numbers of poor folks, lets find someone to put the blame on, but lets do it in a way that doesn't disrupt the voting source of the Party that developed and promotes this very successful "great society. Let's blame the upper one 1%. Not many there, so it won't cost that many votes. And let us go one step further and say that the Republicans love and protect that 1% and link them to the "blamed"...... so as to kill two birds with one stone. The uninformed will eat it up. What the h*** do they know ... or even care (Reid thinks all citizens are stupid and need to be nursed by policy).... as long as we throw them a few dependent bones to gnaw on. They've learned to live with it. They hear "HOPE" and "CHANGE" but aren't really looking for or expecting it; but, they do hope for and expect those few bones.
