If the father gets twenty years, as he should,
perhaps he will not be so trigger happy
next time around!

One does have to wonder about a major segment of our society that thinks violence is an acceptable way to resolve disputes. Couple that with ready access to handguns and the results are street shootings as well as domestic killings such as this one.

You mean like the police or military when the face what they have been told is a threat? Back to a reality check, I realize that senior moments can occur.

THE DAUGHTER TOLD THE FATHER THE GUY IN HER BED WAS A STRANGER. AFTER BEING TOLD TO NOT MOVE A MUSCLE, THE STRANGER REACHED FOR SOMETHING.

What do police officers do when a detainee is told to hold their hands up and not make any moves, and the detainee makes a sudden move?

Sorry, Pat, but I don't think your response was worth a double post.
The man was NOT, I repeat NOT, a police officer. Nor have I seen any evidence that he was engaged in a military shooting conflict. Many in or civilian society, war mongers included, think that violence is the best way to resolve a conflict.

What if the kid was an intruder and WAS going for a weapon?

But ,we know he wasn't. What ifs do not count when one decides to kill another person.

Apparently no one wants to address the belief by many American that a good and acceptable way to resolve conflicts is violence. When that attitude is coupled with really availability of handguns, lots of street killings as well as in home killings are bound to happen.

The Dad is the only one we worry about, what he thought was happening at that moment. I'll bet no charges are filed, just you anti gun nuts using a tragedy to promote your agenda.

What makes you think I am an "anti-gun nut," Neutral? You know full well that I personally own two guns. I have described them explicitly several times on this forum. But I am sure your personal insult by name calling will receive a pass from Pat.
