In other words, the elite, defended by the US Right, feels free to despoil other countries and workers at will. All in the name of bigger profits for the elite.

They wouldn't call it despoiling. They would tell you that they are increasing their bottom line.

I hope that I live another five or six years.

Then, when the right elects another GOP government,
which will trash the economy,
which they will do, again,
I will be able to laugh and say,
"I told you so"

Label those in congress and the White House how ever you desire, the problem is at their doorstep. Removing the slave labor and safety issues of off shoring could be accomplished through legislation. I'm not seeing it are you? Fair trade is interpreted by law and treaty to be code for turning your back on working conditions and compensation illegal in our country. The unfair advantage and exploitation could all be dealt with at a signing ceremony in the Rose Garden.

Do you really think such legislation could ever be gotten by the right wing, Tea party,
Republican ideologues in the House? In terms of the title of this thread, that is what right wing governing brings us.

It isn't the root cause of off shoring Tom. Tax policy and trade policy is at the heart of it.
Tax and trade policy is what would fix it.

Average Cost Factory Worker
Since 2001, the United States has lost 2.8 million manufacturing jobs to China -- that despite U.S. factory workers being far more productive.

Partly, it can be explained by China's cheaper workers: The average hourly wage for Chinese manufacturing workers is less than a tenth that of their average U.S. counterparts, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It being about twice as cheap to live in China, those lower Chinese wages go further. But Chinese factory workers also tend to work longer hours, making them more appealing to some employers.

U.S. factory workers do have one critical advantage over others: They're really productive. In fact, U.S. factory workers produce $73.45 per hour in output, one-third more than German factory workers and twice as much as workers in Taiwan, according to the BLS. That's in part because U.S. workers still tend to build more expensive products than someone in Taiwan, such as airplanes instead of shoes, Brookings labor economist Gary Burtless said.

Chinese and U.S. workers differ in another important respect as well. Factory workers in China are more than three times more likely to get killed at work than their American counterparts, and the government's health insurance programs do not cover basic care.

German factory workers, on the other hand, enjoy a higher quality of life than American manufacturing workers. Their wages are 11 percent higher than those in the U.S. -- largely because their unions are more powerful.

I am glad that you understand that US labor must compete with world wide labor. But instead of competing, Unions feather-bed and resist innovation which would make US labor more competitive by making them more productive.

You are typical of a Soros led socialist.

Union members account for about 17% of the work force and the majority of them are public employees. And, btw I favor right to work, and no collective bargaining for public unions.

Now you tell me how this small sliver of the work force is causing all this offshore manufacturing.

As for the states and cities raising taxes. When your tax base takes a nosedive, that is the only way in the short term to stay afloat after essential services have been cut to the bone.

Soros is small potatoes compared to the Koch machine and it's Fox fed suckers.

Back before the offshore move began it was much higher and they were demanding outrageous wages and conditions including featherbedding.

The higher taxes started long before their tax base took a nosedive. The nose dive is the result of higher taxes, not the cause.

Are you kidding? Soros and his friends owns the Democrat Party lock stock and barrel. When the socilist speaks the Dems fall in line.
