There are several article's floating around, in this article it says Jolly never raised Obamacare as an issue, in an Associated Press article it says he did. Regardless, in a evenly divided district, one where both parties poured money in in trying to set a tone for November, the republican won by 2 points.

I believe this ties in with what I have posted and speculated in the past. America gives one party a chance and just when it believes it is in for good, the voters toss them out. This is shaping up according to the polls to be a democrat blood bath. Harry Reid had better watch out with all of his Senate rule changes, that 60 vote threshold could be all that saves the dems from legislative disaster.

Republican Jolly wins Fla. congressional race

Mar 11, 9:08 PM (ET)

By MICHAEL J. MISHAK and TAMARA LUSH

CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Republican David Jolly defeated Democrat Alex Sink on Tuesday in a Tampa-area House district where President Barack Obama's health care overhaul got its first test ahead of November's midterm elections and both sides spent millions auditioning national strategies.

With almost 100 percent of the vote counted, Jolly had 48.5 percent of the vote to Sink's 46.7 percent. Libertarian Lucas Overby had 4.8 percent. The election was to replace 42-year Republican Rep. CW Bill Young, who died in October of cancer, and the evenly divided district had been considered a toss-up.

Hardly a landslide and why is a Republican replacing a Republican the forecast of things to come?

Why? Apparently the demographics of the district show it as being evenly divided among voters. And the fact that both sides has decided to use this particular campaign as one for a litmus test on voter sentiment and to try out campaign messages.

A preview of things to come. Only the Reps can blow it but with Obicare a main issue they would have to try very hard to lose.

"Tonight, one of Nancy Pelosi's most prized candidates was ultimately brought down because of her unwavering support for Obamacare, and that should be a loud warning for other Democrats running coast to coast," NRCC chairman Greg Walden said in a statement.

Jolly prevailed despite major demographic changes over Young's four-decade tenure that opened a door for a Democratic victory. This is the second special election in 2014 where Democrats have been unable to assert a demographic advantage among actual voters in a nonpresidential election year. President Obama carried the 13th District in 2008 and 2012, and Sink also won the district during her run for governor in 2010. But translating demography into votes is tricky business, as California Democrats noticed during San Diego's mayoral race earlier this year, which the Republican candidate won.

Jolly, who was a lobbyist and before that an aide to Young, overcame a significant financial disadvantage to defeat Sink, who was well-known from her previous statewide runs. Sink outspent Jolly about 4-to-1 on the airwaves, according to NBC News......

Obamacare combined with no jobs and the Dems insisting on amnesty for illegals dooms them.
