National Press Virtually Ignores Ala. Legislator's Racist Rant, Grilling of Pro-Life Bill's Sponsor

Alabama Democratic State Representative Alvin Holmes, who recently created a firestorm by calling Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas "a very prolific Uncle Tom," was at it again on Tuesday.

This time, the issue at hand was a "fetal heartbeat" bill restricting abortions. Holmes, who apparently needs no help seeing racism in just about anything, claimed, in the words of Kala Kachmar at the Montgomery Advertiser, that "99 percent of the white legislators in the chamber would raise their hand to say they're against abortion, and that same 99 percent would make their daughters get an abortion if they were impregnated by a black man." Holmes was also robbed of his wallet and $300 earlier in the week. Guess which story was worthy of coverage at the Associated Press? With rare exceptions, the rest of the U.S. press also appears to have ignored Holmes' raging racism.....

Probably true. Much less than Obama being foreign born, a secret muslim and a communist who hates white people. Save the fake outrage.

Playing the race card works. Call somebody a racist in a crowd and watch the reaction around you. I refer to it as the 'never ending national guilt syndrome' that keeps on giving. Laugh it off to your own peril. The academy awards was once again a tribute to the gods.

A using subtle messages to incite racial animosity if far worse (ie; welfare queen) (iefood stamp president).

Whats with your response, did you learn a new word to add to "diverting"? I see you using it everywhetecall of a sudden. i am starting to think you can't handle more than one expression at a time.

Anyway, I do agree with Pat that bringing the term racist can muddy the water. As for the bill, another attempt by males to dictate to women what they can or cannot do with their own bodies. What next? Bring back chastity belts? I would be more sympathetic if these were not the same people who campaign against birth control education and Anti STD vaccinations for teenage girls.

What is your problem with the way I post. I follow the liberal way of posting and you whine and complain. You talk about using the term racist yet when liberals on this board use it routinely you never say a word. Why is that?

Well for starters you act like it is some kind of war with your goal of showing those "liberals" up.

No original thoughts, no consideration of anyone else's point of view. Just plastering right wing propaganda up, and mimicking when you get called on it.

I have no doubt that some fringe elements would re-introduce chastity belts. In fact if I recall right, I read where a woman escaped from a husband who used them on her. To me the bottom line is freedom to live your life as you choose within the confines of established laws. And if a law is abusive, then change the law as a society or leave that society.
