Wouldn't the fact the deny movement is sponsored by those who have the most to lose if climate legislation is passed make you stop and take note? A real conflict of interest. Reminiscent of the tobacco companies positions when first confronted with the health risks of their product. And, even worse when right wing media portrays is as a fringe movement by those evil libs and tree huggers.

Tobacco didn't stop for 17 years. Wouldn't the fact that the alarmist movement has lots to gain make you stop and take note?

The comparison f the tobacco industry with the fossil fuels industry is an excellent one.
Both would do anything and say anything to maintain their position. It took a number of years to overcome the economic power and of the tobacco industry's massive propaganda. If the right wing ideology deniers have their way, it will take even longer to overcome the propaganda of the fossil fuel industry even though the danger they present is to many, many more people. I still like to be around people who are smoking cigarettes. Bu that is my choice. To put up with the effects o man made climate change is not my choice since its negative effects are worldwide.

Today the Wall Street Journal has a full page article that focuses on the drought in the west..a drought that is ten years old. One example of the affect is a water reservoir outside San Jose that is 3% full. California law mandates that urban areas are the priority of available water which leaves much of the agriculture regions without water for crops.

I think to say the drought has lasted 10 years is a misstatement. Either that or your definition of a drought is different than the experts Brewster says we must depend on. Or you could be stating that based on the idea that if there is any drought anywhere in the US then the US in a drought. That is what Brewster says is the case.

Who gains in your so called "alarmist movement"? Carbon tax just taxes those who emit more.

The government is, "by and for the people". So, we gain. That's not a bad thing, unless your a billionaire who wants to continue exploiting natural resources and polluting the atmosphere that belongs to all of us for their own personal benefit.

Pure Right Wing paranoia. There is far more being gained by the Koch brothers and their buddies - approximately a Trillion dollar$ per year, and that's just in the US.LINK

And since all the Energy Billionaire$ have their fingers in pies all over the world, the number is vastly more than that. In fact, Worldwide Fossil Fuel companies receive $500 Bn per year just in Subsidies!

The Gullible$ are just shovelling more money at them.
