The ACA is supposed to slow the inflation in health care. Basically make it cost less than it would have been with no action in the future. That doesn't necessarily translate into it being less than it costs today. |

Left unexplained is how taxing something makes the cost of it go down. |

Many of the elderly want and expect the young to pay for they health care but at the same time they are not willing to be taxed anything extra to provide the same care for the non elderly. There is a saying that "wisdom comes with age." Perhaps "selfishness" also comes with age. |

Well if the revenue from taxing is spent to increase delivery efficiencies then it most certainly would go down. And, of course you have to define what you mean by cost. The most obvious benchmark is health care spending per capita. We spend considerably more than other countries who have national health care plans, and haven't covered a lot of people. The evidence is out there that it can be done better than just relying on free market solutions. |

Show us some facts. Favoring government intervention in some areas where private solutions have failed does not make one a socialist. But, it makes for a great slogan if your short on evidence and facts. |

I wonder if there is supposed to be something negative in calling someone a "socialist." I thought that old right wing name calling disappeared with Joe McCarthy and his ilk. No, I had hoped that would be the case. |

The nonsensical rant that everyone who favors a government solution is a "socialist" is a popular slogan that has replaced thinking these days. I suppose government roads and education are socialist endeavors too. |
