We went to an outdoor music event the other day. The lights and electronic stuff that the musicians were using was all powered by battery packs/inverters that had solar panels. Not those noisy little generators that you would expect in such a situation.

Yup. Both Solar and Wind are getting cheaper to buy and generate more power for a given size.

So far, depending upon the location, Wind is cheaper than any fossil fuel, and Solar is close.

In a couple more years, there will be no excuses for using anything but renewables. (Unless you work for the Kochs, of course.)

Renewables now Cheaper

But I expect that the Gullibles will find one-of anecdotes of occasions where renewables had problems, and continue to push dirty solutions.

Economy of scale has now caught up with both sources. It's getting to the point that new home construction and rehabs could include solar at very reasonable prices.

This area has about 360 days of sunshine per year and I know of no home construction using solar.

Perhaps you should talk to Solar Arizona - They seem to think somebody's making money...

Maybe Solar isn't as visible on houses because there's huge concentrated installations...

Arizona Public Service

Big corporations, individual homeowners - it all works - another big advantage.
