Well, it may or not be garbage but we will not know because it contains no data(opinion) which can not be checked. I think that was it's purpose. |

Did you miss the facts about the test scores? Ban apparently didn't. Did you miss the facts about percent of GDP spent on education? Did you miss the facts about increasing numbers of people in poverty in the US? Ban apparently didn't. And, how is it you know that no facts were presented if you can find no facts to contradict those that were presented? After all, facts are entities and/or relationships that actually exist. Those test scores actually exist. Those levels of poverty actually exist. Of course you can call me a liar for so saying. Pat accused me of that when I asked for additional documentation. |

I know that no source to the opinions expressed in the video were given. As Mountainrivers says, with no way to check the source then all they are is opinions. |

Oh you can check the existence of the facts presented in the video anytime you wish. I am guessing that you have and since you couldn't find anyway to refute or contradict their existence, you have chosen to play a different game. Here are a couple of Merriam-Webster's definitions of "fact." "the quality of being actual" "something that has actual existence" Edited by colo_crawdad, Dec 30 2013, 10:22 AM.

I guess the contradictory facts I have presented on this thread, the recent Kitna thread and previous threads concerning Detroit, California, and New York were horse pucky in Colo's mind. |

Absolutely none of the facts that you presented contradicted any of the facts presented in the video, Pat. In fact, as I explained well above, many of them supported the conclusions reached in the video. |

Answer me this Colo, if hundreds of thousands of public school students have parents that believe school it is just a waste of time and are so irresponsible, why would following the early education and extra time for teachers to meet with parents and plan course work be a viable solution? We need retired or semi retire community leaders, business owners and other professionals working as teachers. Jon Kitna received his teaching certificate and education over 20 years ago, when he came back to the profession he brought 20 years of professional experience to the job. Experience that teachers hired directly from college will rarely gain. We have districts and administrators across the land on the take, acting more like mafia than anything resembling educators. We have unions that are focused on being unions not teaching. I keep reading your posts but still see failure, how many $ billions more Colo should we invest? How many more off teaching hours do we need? I'm not anti education Colo, I'm more pro education than the union or those supporting more programs that ignore reality. |

I agree, Pat, you are certainly not "anti-education." You are anti-public education and anti-teachers' unions. BTW, as i understood it John Kitna spent a good deal of time contacting and communicating with parents and working individually with students. That is GREAT! |
