http://www.eliomotors.com/ My wife and I are seriously thinking about buying one of these. For $6800 it is a 2 seat vehicle that gets great MPG and is well equipped. It would be perfect for about 90% of our driving needs, local, and would allow us to use the diesel only when we are towing horses. At this price point it would not take all that many years for the Elio to pay for itself. |

I've seen the mini gadabout cars in Europe, provided it is easy to get in and out of them they make perfect sense for like you said, most transportation needs. Plus they don't take up much room in the garage, tires would be less expensive, maintenance cheap. You can't buy a motorcycle trike for five times that amount and it isn't enclosed. Run to the store, to the store, to visit a friend nearby, I think you are on to something. |

The specs say that the Elio comes with a roll cage and has a 5 star crash safety rating... |

Pat, I am on their list to be notified when they are ready to sell, and test. The plan is to open 60+ dealerships throughout the nation. Seattle should rate one. |

Good, the roll cage will let the average SUV boot you into the next county. |
