Now of course a canook stealthily bashes this country.
Actually we watch what goes on down there in bemused disbelief. From our side of the border which is looking more & more like a line of rationality, Americans seem a paranoid bunch in fear of things, that to us, appear ludicrous. We are not quite sure if you are brainwashed, or whether you have some sort of inside infomation that your government is out to get you. To us, it appears Americans do not know what the word "Compromise" and Rational debate" means and have lost their collective minds. In many ways it worries us because this iseems to be a relativeley new thing, and I actually noticed it started with teh appearance of negative poltical ads. Hopefully that is just a coincidence, as they have started to appear in this country. Of course they work on the proiciple that you should always attack what your oppenent does, while avoiding letting people know what your solution is. Plus negative advertising is a great builder of paranoia. Negativity is infrectious. This attitude to me appears to be the crux of the problem down there.

Why don't you make a New Year's resolution to mind your own business. Go to Mexico and stick your head in the cartel's business.

All in all, it's rather like having a big brother who just can't keep himself out of trouble.

We love him, and we'd like to help, to give some advice to prevent him getting into even more trouble, but he thinks he's older and knows better.

The problem is Paul, we seem to be too dumb to realize
that our duly elected government is out to get us.

Here we sit, weaponless and vulnerable,
while Harper and his gang plot how to
wipe us out.

Scary stuff!

True, Sea.

We're so naïve we think Harper & Co. were elected to do what WE want, and if we don't like the job they're doing, we can vote them out.

Easy now, Paul.
Next thing, you will be claiming that we live in a democracy!

Well ew may dislike Harper in his current incarnation, but we ralize that elections are for booting people out, not making up garbage about birth certificates and the sort of crap Right Wing Americans seem so fond of to short circuit Democracy. Back in the 1700's, Americans showed the way to freedom & Democracy, now the American right wing seems intent on destroying all of that. Its sad.
