No, I'm trying to lead you into supplying real facts, backed by real experts. Apparently it's just beyond your comprehension. |

Can't do it, Neut? All you've got is the usual one liners? I guess it saves a lot of thinking - on any subject. |

Correcting junk science is not a waste. Junk science is the waste. You are quite wrong. I dislike the government wasting money on junk science which would also put more control of the government over the freedom of the people. The rest of your post is pure argumentum ad hominem which you as a self proclaimed communication specialist should know better than to use. |

Any chance Berton has posted information from a reliable source? Nahhh, not even worth looking. Go for it, Bertie - it's not even challenged, so you can claim it's correct, whatever it may be. |

Getting back to the OP, is the beef here over what other people choose to donate their money too? The beef that some organizations focus on confronting and stopping legislation that is harmful for their businesses? Personally, I don't think a $billion is that much to be concerned over. The long march towards alternative energy is in full gear, it's coming despite What those tied to conventional energy desire. I still believe that unless a global wide focused plan is in place to address industrial affects on the climate, that it's just pissing in the wind to gripe about it. And I don't see any evidence that suggests such an effort is in the wings. |

The real beef is HOW that money is spent. If it were a straight up effort to stop policies they don't like, it wouldn't be so bad, although I still think there should be limits on what can be spent on a political battle. But what the Kochs and their friends are doing is using their money to prop up phony "experts", and helping them disseminate phony "science" to confuse politicians and the weak minded into believing the science is nowhere near as solid as it is, and/or that any effort to undo the damage is both expensive and unworkable. It is all to hold off changes as long as possible, to maximise their profits. I do not agree with you that it's too late, but I do agree to the extent that it's too late to avoid everything. There's no doubt we're in for some nasty experiences. But regardless of whether it's a "Doomsday" scenario, or just "nasty experiences", do you really believe it's Okay for some group to deceive the public and/or twist politics, putting us all through this just so they can make a few more Dollar$? Could this be an answer to your concerns Brew? The good old Center For American Progress tree huggers to the rescue. http://finance.townhall.com/columnists/maritanoon/2013/12/22/obama-doctrine-reward-friends-punish-enemies-n1767155/page/full |

That Right Wing rag is an excellent example of just what I was talking about on the other thread. They've taken a couple of events that may have happened and twisted them beyond recognition. And then said; "See? Obama's bad!" You could ask, "Didn't those events really happen?" and there could be no answer. It's impossible to separate the facts from the multiple layer of lies. There is absolutely NOTHING in that article to tell you what's really going on. What answer did you think you saw in that polemic? Edited by Brewster, Dec 23 2013, 04:46 AM.

They are not only human versions of Lemmings, they actually pay for the priviledge. Does anyone doubt anymore that the human race is essentially stupid? Well at least the brainwashed right wing segment is. |
