Ban doesn't spend his time on Canadian forums (if any even exist) bashing Canada. I wish we could say the same for Canadians about the U.S.
Well you can't! nyah, nyah, nayh!

Ban's article "Bashing Canada" for our treatment of aboriginals is just one of many "bashes" he's posted. And like many, it lists statistics without telling the story.

He thinks he's proving something, but I think the only thing he's proving is his own jealousy and Right Wing paranoia. I have seen very few posts by Canadians bashing the US, but a lot bashing the US Right. Why he thinks his personal leanings are representative of the entire country is beyond me.

As for the aboriginals, both Indian and Inuit, by and large they live as they wish to live, and it varies by tribal culture. I lived in Thunder Bay for a while, and the Iroquois and Mohawks were on average the richest people in the City. If you look at the Assiniboine and Cree across much of Western Canada, they are dead poor - and usually dead drunk.

We supply the wherewithal, and any Assiniboine with a strong back who is willing to work can go to the Oilsands and make a fortune - their choice. I've known a few.

(That is one advantage Canada DOES have - the Oilsands are a virtually inexhaustible source of high-paying jobs for anyone willing to work hard - no other country that I'm aware of has that lucky situation.)

As I said, we supply everything the natives need to escape poverty. But if they choose to live in their culture as dead drunk boozers, good on 'em. Their choice, we force nothing on them.

Are you insinuating this is an "american forum". How do you figure that?

Shouldn't your argument of bashing Canada over this issue, be with the U.N. Brew. They are the ones who made the judgment, not me. I just saw the article in my daily search for "Canada bashing material" and thought folks might be interested in it.

The UN just pointed out what folks have known for a long, long time, that the aborigines haven't been treated well and that there are plenty of poor people in Canada, as rich as it is.

I suppose you and Sea will take this opportunity now and start threads that bash the US in some way or another.... calling it names.... like the "bankrupt sewer;" or the "Do not enter Mexico," and the "Americanization of Canada" threads, just to rebash.

Why are you so sensitive when someone points out that Canada is not such a perfect place? And, why do you get so annoyed about what happens down here?

Your last two sentences, why don't you and Sea apply that same logic to segments of our poor population down here.

While you seem to "speak for everyone" (all liberals on the forum) concerning right wing paranoia, I speak just for myself, none others, on the Canadian left wing paranoia. And, I'll probably continue my quest, knowing that it will make about as much difference as what you and Sea spit out. You should try to get use to it and attack the content that, in this case, the UN's right wing paranoia about Canada.

You folks should contribute more private funds for your social expenditures and come up to snuff with the US, Switzerland, GB and Israel; especially since Canada has so many of it's population so well off.

We do talk about America for the most part, what would you call it?
