You cannot compare us to other countries, especially piddy ass ones like Canada. We have a far more complex situation.
And an obstructionist right wing political party.
And Neut.

Anyone else notice how Newt never adds anything intelligent to a conversation?
Give Neut a break,
he is too busy posting right wing dogma
to be bothered saying anything intelligent.

Yes I forgot about that, it could skew the figures unless they are counting that.

But ignoring all the diversion and one liners folks seem to want include, what criteria did those doing the study include and exclude? You don't know that to make the statements you are making. You are making assumptions to support what you want to say. I could say that the study doesn't include each states separate contributions. You just make a statement that the US is inefficient (which it probably is when it comes to entitlement programs). But study was done by a supposedly reputable "international" source. And private contributions, which apparently the US leads all other nations, it suggests that the US is still the most "giving" people on earth when it comes to aid to others.

And what "expenditures" are the "wrong type" that might be excluded that other nations aren't giving to?

It appe4ar5s to me that the OP isb just another attempt by the right wing to create a new definition of "socialism." That's is a common tactic for members of the right wing.

Quite correct, Colo.

The US Right seems to have no idea what real socialism is. They just use the term as a catchall "Bad Thing".

I know you two aren't as dense as you appear sometimes. It was Sea who has in other threads, in attempt to down the US and up Canada, used phrases such as Canada is a "socialist country," (Post #7) not me or any right winger that I have seen. And we most all know, and anyone who has taken "Political Science 101," knows what real socialism is. All this thread is about is, if "social expenditures" is any measure of how "socialist" a nation is (as Sea and other lefties have suggested) then the US beats Canada hands down in social expenditures as the study from a reputable organization shows. If you feel the OCED is a "right wing" org., then show where it is. You may wish to ignore the facts as presented in the study, then perhaps you can show where they are false or that they are "right wing" creations.

I think Sea will correct me if I am wrong, but I always thought his referring to Canada as a "socialist" country was doing so sarcastically while laughing at the U
S Right for so indicating. Perhaps I thought that because I am, as Ban said, "dense." LOL

No, I do not believe that you are wrong.

Ban and the twins constantly give the impression
that they consider Canadians to be ant like
creatures toiling for the government,
with no opportunity to become wealthy and independent
as it seems American workers are.
