We have to severely slash all entitlement programs and the huge wealth in the country is off limits for increased taxes. Now I call that "playing the ignorance card". You know who you are. |

It appears that Berton had/has no card(s) to play other than attempts to insult. Did Neut play any card other than the insult one? |

I don't believe that is the case Colo, the issue of deficit spending is one of the key issues that angered enough people to join together under the tea party flag. Spending had become out of control and neither congress nor any of the presidents were doing anything about it. The republican presidents as well as democrat ones are equal to blame, they all promoted spending more than was coming in. And it escalated dramatically when Bush Jr. decided to wage two multi $ trillion wars on the credit card and let a housing bubble and Wall Street destroy the economy that Clinton ushered in. Tell me Colo who would have stepped up and confronted the madness had the tea party not intervened? Who was going to put big boy pants on? As we see from this article, the established spending club in congress is now attacking those who have fought to contain spending. This has nothing to do with the race of the president. |

In their effort to curtail spending, the TPer's have cost the economy an enormous amount of growth. Not only that, but they've made the country the laughing stock of the world by demonstrating that our form of government won't work if either side isn't willing to compromise. |

This is a compromise, not to the liking of those who want to curtail spending though. |

There is no curtail of spending. This is no different than those phony budgets in the past where the debt would be paid off sometime in the future. The spending cuts in this compromise are all back loaded, they will never take place and we know it. This is nothing more than a spending increase that is unfunded. $25 trillion in debt is right around the corner and most on this board seem fine with it. I feel sorry for your off spring and the future generations who will suffer due to the greed of this generation. |

I'm not for it, that's why I like the Tea Party folks, they are the only ones who really want to control spending. Boehner should be history. |
