So we are both on our way to becoming bankrupt sewers.

If you haven't noticed it yet, never fear, it's coming anyway..

I for one am tired of the mess the US Right is creating, and will never stop pointing it out.

Oh, now you're trying to win Thumper back on this one. We know your tactics.

Time to vote them out Brew before they get all the politicians in the same sewer.
Very true, retired.

Time to work on it as hard as I can...

Neut's reading comprehension is so bad he can't even read a simple sentence without screwing it up.

Boy, working as hard as you can on straightening out the US right and putting a stop to the "slug oil" production in your home province keeps you busy. Are you seeing any results yet?

I comprehend and read just fine Brew. Here is your quote:
"Yup, our leaders seem to want to follow the US into becoming a bankrupt sewer."

The article doesn't seem to be blaming the U.S. right. It puts more blame on:

"Kellogg said last month it would shed 7 per cent of its global work force and consolidate its facilities amid falling sales of breakfast cereals. Busy lifestyles and a switch to more convenient foods such as muffins or yogurt are blamed for the drop."

and,

"The move is another blow to Ontario’s manufacturing sector, which has seen plants close and workers laid off as the persistently strong Canadian dollar drives up costs and makes exports expensive."

and,

"Last month, HJ Heinz said it would close its factory in Leamington, Ont., putting about 740 people out of work in a region where the unemployment rate is higher than the 6.9-per-cent national average. Lance Canada Ltd.’s bakery in Cambridge is slated to close in May, eliminating 130 jobs. Kraft Foods Group Inc.’s Oakville factory is also expected to shut down."

Maybe better for Canada to keep the oil tar sands going for awhile yet to keep the economy from tanking, but even that will be getting some competition from the new finds in the US and Mexico. I'm thinking maybe we should hold up on the Canada/US merger for a while. I think the US was counting on Canada to pull us up out of the bankrupt sewer we are in, but that doesn't seem likely at the moment.
