I appears to be a growing group (still small) of local, Toronto citizens concerned about the future of quality, timely healthcare as the stresses of the baby boomers come of age.

As best I can tell, this is a political advocacy group based primarily out of Toronto trying to get massive increases in medical funding. The leaders have no actual experience in Health Care as best I can tell.

From their own site:
Quote:

The Council was a group of 25 citizen volunteers (none of whom were involved in health care), who were representative of Toronto’s diverse population. It was established as part of a project that was funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research to study priority setting in health policy using public engagement.

The group has no expertise at all, and to push their singleminded agenda they exaggerate single anecdotal stories to try to show the entire system needs overhaul.

They have approximately zero influence and credibility in Canada. but it makes good fodder for US Right Wingers who think if there's any dissenting opinion in Canada, then the whole country must be in ruins.

Who said they were a grass roots organization? With the obvious expertise in graphics and phraseology, not to mention the level of secrecy they maintain about their donors, I would expect that a drilldown would show they have serious financial support by medical and drug companies.

What. are you now calling funding by such groups and individuals as the Koch brothers and Soros "conspiracies?" I seems o me hat funding by special interest groups only indicate bias, not conspiracy.
