For the president to have embarked on the healthcare entitlement agenda? Should this have ben the number one focus of his administration when there were so many other pressing problems?

Think over your answer and as you vote in the pol, follow it up with an argument in your own words that is clear and precise.

Given the fact that health care is one of the largest portions of our economy, getting that monster under control would allow us to concentrate on other problems, that we can't do much about because we are spending much of our resources on that one sector.

One might well say that if President Obama faced a recession caused by the politics of Bush, during that recession, it would become even more important that everyone be able to have health care coverage.

I voted no as he should have been working on the economy and jobs instead of a program that hurt both the economy and employment.

Deepening recession Pat? Can you provide some facts showing that the economy is worse off than it was 5 years ago when Bush left the country on the brink of collapse?

Your health care costs were/are insane. Obamacare is the first step in reducing costs while maintaining / increasing services, a policy considered the most logical by every other conservative party in the world.

Your original premise reminds me of the guy who was up to his ass in alligators - while he's beating them off, he still has to keep in mind that the problem won't be fully resolved until he drains the swamp.

So you believe that due to the former administration's policies that having healthcare for an additional 30 million was the most important matter facing the country? The one agenda that the president should have spent all his political capital on and the majority of his administration's efforts on?

I read just last week Joe that the unemployment numbers are edging back up which has generally been viewed as a sign that the economy is worsening. Do you disagree, if so why?

Given the need of 30 million people, according to yo, Pat, the answer is YES.

Yes.

It was a vital step.

But it shouldn't have been necessary. The Republicans were already showing their disdain for that Black Boy in the office, opposing an idea which was theirs in the first place.

Explain to me why the Reps opposed their own idea, if it wasn't because it was being proposed by Obama.
