How Humphrey knew about it but mistakenly thought he would win the election and decided not to use it, allowing a traitor to win the presidency and cost 1000's of American lives.

More evidence that Richard, a Republican, Nixon, was the worst President in the history of the United States.

I believe Nixon was far from being our worst president. He was no doubt the most unethical and paranoid law breaker to ever sit in the oval office. Most insiders said it was his intense paranoia that drove him over the line. That an an increasing addiction to alcohol. Opening up China to the west and ending the Vietnam war are two of our countries major achievements in the past 40 years. Obama would be green with envy had he enjoyed Nixon's approval ratings, were he to think about it.

From this latest evidence it appears he was over the line before he was even elected.

It only took him 5 years to do it and many thousands of casualties. He wouldn't have done it either if there hadn't been so much anti-war sentiment in the US, imo.

Despite your opinion Neal, he did it. And we were all happy campers as a result.

We are? Perhaps you should speak for yourself, Pat and not for the rest of us.

If the issues is how many 1000s of lives Republican Nixon caused, I wonder how many thousands of American lives Democrat Johnson caused if he had never got us involved in Vietnam in the first place; or, how many thousands of American lives Democrat Truman caused had he not got us involved in Korea... not to mention the 100s or 1000s of lives of the Asians. It seems that the majority of American lives lost in wars in the last 100 years began during Democrat presidencies.

The reason some countries don't start wars is that they can't finish it without much help.
