My daughter, who teaches a course fro high school seniors using the King James Version of the Bible as one of the textbooks, watched the first installment and was disappointed in what she described as a childish cartoon type of presentation. I should note that she does use a number of History Channel programs on the Bible as material in her classes. She will not be using the current series.

Watched a bit, not enough to give a detailed critique, wasn't impressed with what I did see.

I started watching it, but after two episodes lost interest. The acting wasn't that great and they moved along "through the years" pretty fast, much was left out if your interest was "tying things together." I saw a series years ago just on the Book of Matthew where they followed the scripture pretty much word for word, the acting was better and the background was more realistic. To cover the whole Bible in a TV "series" is probably a little too much to be very effective. The movie "The Passion" was more realistic, the Aramaic language was even used and it was only about part of the last two chapters of Matthew.

I might look in again just to see if it gets any better.

Cartoon like huh. I think most fairy tales have cartoon versions when shown on TV.
