An Oklahoma mother was arrested last week after she allegedly tried to sell her children online.

Police say Misty VanHorn attempted to sell her kids on Facebook, possibly to cover the bond money she needed to get her boyfriend out of jail, area news outlet KFOR-TV reports.

Vanhorn evidently contacted a female acquaintance through the social networking site, offering to trade her 2-year-old and 10-month-old for $4,000. Vanhorn also agreed to accept $1,000 for the 2-year-old alone, the Oklahoman notes.

According to the police report, VanHorn's Facebook message read: "Just come to Sallisaw, it's only 30 minutes away and I’ll give you all of her stuff and let y’all have her forever for $1,000."

One of VanHorn's neighbors, Tony Mosby, said the 22-year-old also sought out money from area residents to pay her boyfriend's bail.

“She was going door to door, here to all the way across town asking everybody for money to get him out," Mosby told local station KFSM.

VanHorn was taken into custody Wednesday after the Arkansas woman, to whom VanHorn made the offer, contacted the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.

VanHorn is being held at Sequoyah County jail on $40,000 bond. Since her booking on the charge of trafficking minors, both of VanHorn's kids have been taken into state custody.

People like this are the root of most of the ills in our society. Low lifes that shouldn't be allowed to breed.

Either that or the churches stole the Indian kids
from their families and incarcerated them into "schools".

I think $1,000 is too high for a 2 year old.

I pass Tom, we already have our teen granddaughter living here most of the time. We're tasking her to Australia this year and I'm thinking of leaving her at the house while we slip off in the middle of the night.

Mine is almost 20 and no longer a teenager. Two years out of high school and pretty disfunctional. She started college, and then dropped out the first term. And, ended up having to pay back the grant money because she didn't finish the courses. She started hanging with a group who's primary motivation in life is drinking and getting high. After a couple of brushes with the law she decided drinking was something she shouldn't do. She had to go to court this morning for a underage consumption and loitering charge. She was expecting a slap on the wrist, but the judge threw the book at her. Three months probation, a $500 fine and random drug and alcohol testing. Perhaps now she will get the message, but I have my doubts. Both parents are worthless substance abusing pieces of crap that should have been neutered IMO. These young people now days think pot is pretty harmless. But, that hasn't been my experience with family members. The stoners never amounted to anything and the non stoners went on to live successful lives. But, you can't tell them anything. I would really like to give them the boot, but it would mean the street and granny is too kind hearted.
