I've never understood why an ex-con can't do certain things. If he/she is still a threat why are they set free?

Look it up, it was some weird name I can't remember. Look what DiFi has proposed too.
You're being naive if you think that isn't the end game.
The information came from an interview with that representative and even the Blaze discredits it somewhat.

"It should be noted that Mattera used a number of misleading tactics in speaking with Schakowsky. In addition to telling her that he appreciated her words, he also used “we” when discussing the chances of achieving a handgun ban (i.e. “We’ll never get a handgun ban with the Second Amendment as stated”). These measures were  seemingly used to gain her trust and to make a foray into the conversation. We should also note the video is edited.

So what if they used trickery to get her to talk. She flat out admits that the long term goal is too radically affect a citizens right to own firearms. The NRA is right in jumping out and nipping most of this in the bud and it doesn't seem that the fight will end any time soon. If the anti gun forces were honest and had any integrity, a sensible conversation might be warranted. But not when they sneak around and won't lay all their cards on the table.

With each passing day, the hot button of Sandy Hook falls to the bottom of discussion boards and public awareness. And each day brings less chance of any reforms being passed.

Today, as I was walking back to my fifth wheel,
in our seniors campground.

Two people were standing, talking in the street.
One of them had a holstered Glock on his belt.
What in hell was he afraid of, some eighty year old widow
shuffling along with her walker?

Stupidest thing I ever did see!

Probably some old fart who's parents
would not allow him a cap gun!

In some states they aren't allowed to vote. They have to petition to have the right reinstated I believe.

When your virility and strength has went south, you can still play rambo with a firearm. :teeth:

I would feel safer with it tucked out of sight, where no one could grab it.

I have never found a way to carry a handgun that was comfortable, even most LEO's I know don't carry while off duty. In my car is OK, but not on my person depending where I am and the time of day.

Police officers in Canada leave all of their their tools (including guns) at the shop (office) after their shift.
The only situation where a off duty officer in Canada , can carry his gun outside his working hours, is if he has been issued a written authorisation by the chief of his police agency, to be armed off duty in account of some very special circumstances. That is a very rare event.

I have a friend who carries a small pistol in his pocket, it's not obvious at all. He has a CWP.
