If old people want to truly protect themselves they should leave their handgun at home and carry de-fib paddles. the elderly have a much greater chance of dieing from a heart attack then from lead poisioning.

Well of course it is Neutral and the vast majority understand this truth. As i posted yesterday and after reading that the senate committee had passed some new gun laws, despite the final draft not being completed, I doubt very much if any legislation will be passed in congress this time around.
Is this another case of "if I just say it often enough, it will be true"? Who have you heard say anybody wants to take all your guns away? You guys that live in that black and white world are pathetic. That old saying, "we should not let the perfect be the enemy of the good" is appropriate when discussing gun legislation. But, the my way or the highway crowd, is dead set on letting the slaughter continue.
A member of congress from Illinois.
So, "A" member of congress from Illinois wants to take your guns away and that means we all do? Which member of congress are you speaking of?

Look it up, it was some weird name I can't remember. Look what DiFi has proposed too.
You're being naive if you think that isn't the end game.

The information came from an interview with that representative and even the Blaze discredits it somewhat.

"It should be noted that Mattera used a number of misleading tactics in speaking with Schakowsky. In addition to telling her that he appreciated her words, he also used “we” when discussing the chances of achieving a handgun ban (i.e. “We’ll never get a handgun ban with the Second Amendment as stated”). These measures were  seemingly used to gain her trust and to make a foray into the conversation. We should also note the video is edited.

I've got three guns, a 12 gauge shotgun (single shot), a 22 carbine (10 shot clip) and a RWS pellet rifle (single). I would like a 357 revolver, but it hasn't been a priority in the budget yet. I've no problem with eliminating the gun show loop hole, and checks to keep them out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill. But, I think the criminals will always be able to obtain guns. Outlawing drugs hasn't worked, and the same would probably apply to guns. Only the law abiding would comply. BTW I have a relative who can't legally buy a gun because of some felony convictions. The felonies weren't gun related, and were drug and unarmed property crimes. He has guns for hunting, purchased by friends and family (not me). Lots of people willing to buy a gun for their friend who can't legally buy one. I don't know what you do about that. Maybe make the punishment for buying a gun for an ex con draconian?
