I have never seen a crash this devastating. The plane is ground up into small chunks. I wonder why the crew didn't bail. The plane looks to have come in at a steep angle and very fast.

Looks like the pilot lost track of his altitude - hit the ground at cruising speed.

Nobody bailed because nobody suspected.

I've seen a couple like that in the high foothills west of Calgary.

This thing looks to me it hit at a steep angle, not in cruise attitude. I am wondering if the crew may have ejected but were way out of the seats ejection envelope, ie, the plane's rapid decent.

Lincoln county is east of the Puget Sound by a couple hundred miles. I have seen B-52's at low altitude in the eastern half of the state. Zoom and they are past you. There doesn't seem to be must left to investigate, how cause is determined will be interesting.

I guess we won't know for sure for a while Thump, but my guess would still be that they were descending at cruising speed, but essentially under control. (Except for the minor item of being a little too close to the ground.) 400 MPH can make a mess of just about anything at any angle.
