Hows many long term jobs are we talking? How about the putrid air generated by the refinery?
I read an article yesterday, can't find it this morning that claimed a mere 35 long term jobs.
All infrastructure job counts drop afterconstruction. I guess you disagreewith Obamas job plan too.
There's nothing wrong with temporary jobs, imo. Temporary jobs that create nothing but trouble are a waste. Obama's jobs program will create something valuable for the country. The pipeline does next to nothing except enrich the Canadian Oil Companies and the Texas refineries and the Chinese.
I believe that a pipeline that extends from the north to the Texas refineries could be utilized to carry oil domestically were the Canadian oil found to be a source of pollution. Which it most likely is. I'm failing to see where our country gains in all of this. We would be allowing the world's most polluting oil to cross environmental sensitive lands and populations, for the benefit of Canada and foreign users.
It's refreshing to see conservatives take a rational approach to controversial topics. My hat's off to you Pat. :tiphat:

You'll never understand will you neut? Jobs are very temporary and the oil isn't going to the US. It's going to world markets, namely China.

I understand very well, we need jobs and more oil equates to lower prices. Very simple.

I guess if it reduces the pressure of China demand for the worlds oil, there will less pressure on prices.

I think their constant number one ratings tell us people watch for the truth overall. Some probably watch for bias as with Hannity, same as Maddow at MSNBC but many are at Fox because they know they can get both sides.
You can deny that and you will but the numbers dispute you.
Several scientific studies have shown Fox viewers are not informed as well as almost anyone else on current topics of the day. Now you claim they present both sides. Now if both are true there is only one other plausible explanation. And, that is Fox viewers are mostly geezers with dementia, and can't remember what they saw. Now, we see the problem. It's the viewers.

There are a lot of people who qualify for food stamps, but don't put in for them because of pride or laziness. I know a few of the later, it's easier to mooch off of relatives (no paperwork to fill out). :teeth: And, you right wingers actually believe these dipsticks have sense enough to make it too the polls to vote for Obie, when they can barely wipe their own ass. :teeth:

Tom, those studies were designed to bash Fox, don't be so gullible. Fox viewers are probably more informed than any others because they get both sides of issues.

The pipeline would help us become less dependent on middle east oil.

The pipeline is not going to supply oil to the US, Neut. It is destined for shipment to foreign markets. Why do you think they want to send it all the way to Texas? There are refineries closer to Canada than Texas.

More oil means less dependence on ME oil.
We are going to get that pipeline sooner or later.
