If Europe is now saying that single payer healthcare is busting the budget and untenable in the future, then what should America do to nip that in the bud before we would have the same experience?
I have never heard of any country in Europe saying that.

Health Care everywhere is getting more expensive, no matter what system you have, and all countries have to work to control costs as much as they can. But why make things worse by adding in huge profits and overlapping bureucracies that multiple insurance co's always create?

Pat, single payer is the only way to level the playing field as you say in your last post.

If the fraud is rooted out that would make Medicare solvent.

Fraud is a big issue, but so is the profiteering from over testing in some areas. Any time you have a for profit health care provider this becomes an issue.

You can attach blame where it is deserved. Our Federal Food And Drug Admin. They are behind the endless tests and double tests that cost us $billions each year. And drive up the cost of prescriptions and medical devices.

The Medicare system (a form of social/government managed health care) was significant in exacerbating fraud and actually making it legal.

You can document that I suppose?

Yes, perhaps you can tell us how "The Medicare system (a form of social/government managed health care) was significant in exacerbating fraud and actually making it legal" does that.

We aren't talking about the same thing. FDA requires testing of drugs and devices to protect us. Even then some harmful things get through. Would you not have them require those tests? Seems that is asking for a catastrophy.

I was talking about Dr's ordering test for patients that aren't necessary. This is increases significantly when the Dr. has an investment in the testing facility. A conflict of interest. Some parts of the country have dramatically higher medicare expenses per enrollee and that is a significant factor.
