Neutral, Do you really want to compare undergraduate and graduate school transcripts? |

NO, and you hit on a point i have raised in the past. Not everybody is college material, and we need to reform education to acknowledge that fact. But in my opinion, all students need the basic tools of reading, writing, and math. |

I want schools to teach kids, is that so wrong in your book? Do you have to pretend to defend schools that are failing just because you were a teacher? Our education system is a joke compared to what it should be and all you libs can do is place the blame on someone else and meanwhile our kids are doomed to stupidity. |

I think K-12 education has the following duties. Ta ch all students to be functionally literate by graduation. Prepare some students for collegiate or university study. Prepare some students to enter the job market immediately upon graduation. Prepare some students to enter trade school for specific job training after graduation. Most private K-12 institutions are only interested the first two. |

Prepare them for everything should be the goal. Some kids take "shop", that does not mean they are not college material. Some kids don't take it, that does not mean they are college material. |

It's not a matter of whether they are college material or not. It's a matter of what the kid wants to do with his/her life. Offering courses in shop, electricity, home ec, or agriculture is a good way for kids to find out what they want to do. They have the choice of whether they want to go to college or not. It shouldn't be forced on them by you. |

So you think a 15 year old knows what they want to do after high school? Hardly. |
