I think the percentage of kids who absolutely cannot be taught the three R's would be very low. I had a teacher or two smack me down a few times, of course now the libs have it so a teacher cannot discipline the kids.

Yep, i was man handled as a student too. And deserving, plus it was worse when I got home.

Boys will be boys and it hasn't changed with them. What has changed is what the teachers are able to do or want to do with discipline.
I think most teachers these days just say to hell with it and ignore the problems.

Me too! Today, if a teacher administers corporal punishment, the parents demand their firing or worse, sue the teacher and the school.
