I thought i gave an explanation. corruption in administration is the probable cause. Listen Colo, I'm not anti public education as you might think, but I do react when those that do know the ins and outs of a system will show by example the rot and decay. Once Henry Ford, a guy with a 3rd grade education was sued for control of his company. the smart asses thought they could run things better. When questioned about his lack of direct experience he looked at the court and explained it this way. that he was smart enough to hire people who had the knowledge. Case dismissed. We all do this, I'm not an engineer but I know how to hire them. If you are happy with how things are in public education, fine, but some of us are concerned. hell my family doesn't relay on the system, but we need future employees who do, and we need them educated, not cheated by the system. |

Pat, I remember reading your article about the New Jersey Public schools. Now, do you have ANY credible evidence that some kind of corruption has allowed students to pass the New York Regents Test without being able to read? |

The fact is the public education program is totally failing and we are doing nothing about it. The reason we are doing nothing is that many won't even admit we have a problem. BTW, I did comment on the article in the first post. |

Public education is not "totally failing". Why do you say such stuff? Many kids get great educations in our public school systems. We should not be concentrated on blaming the schools, but trying to discover why some kids are educated and others are not. We've talked this to death, but you and others keep repeating the same old crap that it's the schools fault. If you know how to fix the problem of some not getting educated, enlighten us. |

Some schools are educating of course but for the most part yes it is a total failure. When I see stats like this there is no other answer. |

All schools educate some students. It's not the schools, it's the students. I know you are all about everything is black and white, but you're wrong about that. |

When you have large percentage numbers like these you have to start looking at the system as it is just not getting the job done. |

It's getting the job done for some. How do you explain that? |
