My wife has had both of her hips replaced and is doing great. If you get a replacement, ask questions about the problems some manufacturers are having with their devices. Metal on metal is a no-no, unless they've improved them recently. Wish you well, whatever your decision.

Arthritis is what did my hip in. When I viewed the X-ray with the doc, I was surprised I can still hobble around. He said they go in and remove all the arthritic damage. Another point he brought up, a couple of companies dirtied the water for the titanium/metal prosthetics. So in it's endearing pursuit of incompetence, our FDA took it out on the good products too. He said he would go with the metal were it him, but wouldn't use one on me. He said he had never had one fail. So the one he said we would be using is a plastic gadget, good for 15-20 years, but that there had also been advancements in the material being used, so those numbers might be an underestimate. 15 years has me approaching 90 so if I'm upset then because my disco dancing is suffering, I'll be fine. It's still a scary prospect.

It seems you're doing all you can to prepare yourself for a good result. The procedure is commonplace anymore; but it's still major surgery and who wouldn't be a little jittery. I get jittery just going to the dentist.

We'll be thinking about you. Don't let Neut, Berton and me hear alone too long with these jackals.

Surgery is almost always scary, but the docs have the procedure down pat, now. My wide received ceramic replacements and has had no problems with them yet. The TV is full of lawyer adds enticing people to sue for defective implants. That should raise your eyebrows.

You do alright, Ban. Don't associate yourself with those other two.

Oh! Take your laptop with you. The hospital probably has wifi and we don't want to lose track of your progress.

Oh I'll have my laptop. If I was stuck four days with network TV as my only source of entertainment, I would cut my wrists.
