But all the nastyness done by the US, that others seem to enjoy pointing out, none of that is done by liberals, right?

The American position on Chavez is what it is. The fact of the matter is he was freely elected by the Venezuelan people and he raised the living standards for the majority of them. He was a shoe in for re-election if he had lived long enough. Working for Venezuelans was his job, not pleasing or cow-toeing to a foreign power (the US). He was elected by the same process that the US fought a war of independence over. Why does the US seem to have such an issue with other countries exercising their independence & self determination? I have a lot of trouble understanding that one.

Wrong. liberals have been responsible for some terrible things too. We talked about the Viet Nam war. Have you already forgotten that? Truman and the Korean War also comes to mind. Kennedy and the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Why do you always assume the worst about liberals?

Only the extreme right wing in America thinks our country is perfect. The rest of us can look at things realistically and know when we have done the wrong thing. Neut's "My country, right or wrong," is a perfect example of an ignorant, follow the line, sheeple attitude that has the rest of the world in the same wonderment you are in.

He won't stay off the air. Everywhere you turn, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN.... everywhere... there he is, prophesying disaster if'n he doesn't get his way. Scaring the pants off his followers and how much they stand to lose. Chasm building. Busy, busy, busy... if only he'd get the senators (both parties) and Congress (both parties) in for a "sit down." and don't come out until the fiscal mess is straightened out. Lead for a change... that would be refreshing. Lead instead of dividing.

He's done exactly that, Ban and the reps have refused to cooperate every time. Why should he continue to make himself look foolish?

You define cooperation as going along with everything Obie wants. Sorry but it doesn't work that way.
A leader would be speaking with the Reps and finding a way to compromise, Obie either isn't capable or just doesn't want to.
