My question is simple. has mankind learned a thing since the holocaust in Nazi Germany? It doesn't appear so, we have them going on as I type and nothing substantial being done to stop them. Africa is a nightmare. Cambodia happened before the world's eyes. I have friends who lost family in Russia, Poland and Germany.
But, Pat, according to Ban and Colo, you can't bring up those atrocities in this thread. You have to apparently only say what they think you should say.
That is a blatant lie, Mr. I am offended that you would say such a thing about me. I am losing respect for you now.

But, then I guess it is easier for you to make things up rather than make any attempt to understand a different viewpoint.
What effort have you made to understand my very different viewpoint? You have accused me of hate, belittling the holocaust and offered nothing but your indoctrinated opinion to discredit mine. The solution for you is to look for reasons to doubt your support of Zionism and Israeli government policies. You would be surprised. And, except for the holocaust, which we have all said we agree was a terrible thing, you have offered nothing to convince us that we have any reason to support the Zionist state of Israel.
Yep, you continue to make stuff up. Why? I apologized if you intent was not fueled by hate and added that such posts certainly fuel hatred. Can you really not understand how such posts as many of your are read as attempts to reduce the significance of the Holocaust, the government organized effort to round up all Jews, put them in cattle cars and send them off to camps where there was competition for the most efficient and least expensive way to kill and dispose of them even while keeping meticulous records of such actions?

So, posting anything counter to your opinion fosters hate. Is that right? It's your interpretation of what we say that is fueling the hate. You can't see beyond your own clouded opinion...............

Seems not too long ago, MR, that you and several of the Obama supporters claimed "racism" on the part of any "posting anything counter" to your posts favoring Obama and his attempted policies..... which of course, was your interpretation.

No one said anyone was limited on what atrocities they wanted to discuss. It was pointed out that of all the atrocities occurring down through time, the holocaust was chosen by me in Post #1 because, on that day, that very article appeared as a "front page" article of the Huffington internet news. My question was "What did these people do to deserve this?" All the atrocities of the world are a bit much for one thread. But one thing I do believe, this particular atrocity was unique in the well planned out, systematic way it was developed and carried out. At that time in history, Palestine was not a factor in it; Pol Pot's Cambodian massacre had not happened yet; Masalovic's ethnic cleansing had not happened in Europe yet; the killings in the Sudan had not happened yet. Those can be anybody's thread topic. The methods of those atrocities were different, the reasons were different, the percent of populations killed were different and the ramifications of all were different. This thread happened to be on the topic presented from the Huffington News article.

What exactly is the argument here? Is it that only Jews have been the victims of pogoms and genocide or that it is more wrong when they are the targets?

I really do not think either of those things are the argument here, Ken.

You would think so, from the response from several members.
