The key is still finding a way to store and transport the energy available. Breaking water into hydrogen for long term storage is still the best we have.

You mean converting the heated water to heated gas? Please explain, I'm dense. |

You may be correct, Pat. It's certainly not the government, those funds have pretty much been taken away to give to the oil companies. |

Pat, Electricity to electrolize water into hydrogen and oxygen, simple and easy to do. Storing heat in any form of material for long is extremely hard to do. Spin the turbines and make hydrogen to burn later.

OK, that makes sense, i wasn't aware of what you were referring to. To me the point being is that overhead we have the key to the chain reaction. It's free, abundant and is not running out for a few billion years. By then man will have found another place to hang out, or blown itself up.. |

Pat, We DO NOT have an energy crisis, we have an energy gathering, storage and transportation crisis! Person who figures out a cheap way to store and transport what we can gather will rule the world.

Brew, Room temperature superconductors would be great, but as an engineer I deal with the current tech and what we can do TODAY.

I want one of those Star Trek gadgets that enables you to teleport. I read somewhere that the theory behind it makes sense and some experiments worked. Point being that if it is based in a theory of physics, then in a matter of time it will come about. |
