Driving the back road from Social Circle to Atlanta today and saw $3.26 a gallon - cash price and $3.29 credit - at a Valero station.

No matter how people try to politically spin it, anyone with any sense knows oil prices are totally dependent on world markets. Prices are also dropping in Canada.

This 'world market" is your mantra but you don't even know what it means evidently. It makes no diff if it's a world market or a neighborhood market, more oil means lower prices.

Oil is an international commodity. next we will be hearing the drill mantra from the right. Fact of the matter is oil goes where the demand is and the price goes along with it. nearly all oil from the Keystone pipeline if it gets built will be transshipped to Asia. Oil conglomerates are in the business of making the biggest buck they can, not in lowering pump prices for American consumers. The fact of the matter is the resource does not belong to the citizens of the country, it belongs to multinational corporations who don't give a damn about the citizens of the country, and owe no loyalty to any particular country. They are an entity in and of themselves. If they had existed in the 1940's in the form they do today, they would be selling oil to the Nazis' if the price were better..
