I pay fifty a month for cutting my lawn once a week. How many lawns would it take to get to 80k
And so? OK, you are cheap and unwilling to pay what others pay. Or your lawn is small and you don't use other services that lawncare people offer. You don't represent what is out there for the average lawn care person.
That is for sure.

The cheap price is called competition Pat. Enlighten us all how you think the gardner should charge more in a free market society

OK, now what do you consider a large lawn and what do you consider lawn service? I saw a photo of your place when you posted it, i didn't see any lawn Joe. And i know what many California homes have for lawn. Not much. I have more grass growing along my driveway. But there are plenty of homes in SoCal with what an average lawn is and these lawns need mowed, edged, weeded and fed.

But for arguments sake, let's say your neighborhood has puny yards and fifty bucks covers the above. Doing six lawns a day, with seven and eight a couple of those days, times six days a week adds up to what., 40 X $50 = $2,000 a week. $2,000 X 50 weeks in a year = $100,000. I rest my case. I pay far more than fifty bucks a week for lawn care.

That's why you see so many lawn care businesses, it's a good business and relatively inexpensive to start.

I doubt it MrsS. Besides, if the voters in the states are smart, we will probably have a manpower shortage.

Aside from a bag of fertilizer every couple of years,
I spend nothing on my lawn.
I can mow it with a push mower in an hour.

Of course I wash my car, truck, and RV in my driveway.
A shot of my wifes dish soap, the only expense.

I was brought up to not pay for what I can do myself.

Fifty bucks a week, I dont think so.

Pt,

I understand your point precisely. Now, explain it to someone living in the Denver Metro area who only has grass to know about three months a year. I won't even ask about areas higher in Colorado.

Pat I have no idea what picture you saw but apprently you did not see all of my property. I probably have 4000 sf of lawn. So you think $60 a month, 52 weeks a year is a money maker?

You have fuzzy math in your figures

so 8 a day @ 15 ea is 120 x 5 days is 600 x 52 is $31,200 a year.

Less costs

a truck
lawnmower
edging equip
blower
insurance on the truck
gas for truck
gas for equip
maintenance on equipment

sheesh Pat where do you get that math from
