By Ian Millhiser and Travis Waldron on Oct 23, 2012 at 8:32 pm NEW ALBANY, Indiana — At a debate this evening with his Democratic opponent Rep. Joe Donnelly (D-IN), Indiana GOP Senate candidate Richard Mourdock claimed that raped women should be forced to carry their rapist’s baby to term because their forced pregnancy is a “gift from God” Earlier this week, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney starred in an ad calling upon Indiana voters to “join me in supporting Richard Mourdock for U.S. Senate.” This is the first time this election that Romney cut such an ad for a fellow Republican candidate. Sounds like just the guy Romney would support. n I wonder how he will attempt to airbrush this tidbit of history. |

Another interesting tidbit from the same article: Earlier this year, Mourdock mocked the very idea that Social Security and Medicare — programs that millions of seniors depend on to save their lives — are even constitutional. Nice... |

Why is it the ones who will never get pregnant who say crap like this? Are the Rebooblicans trying to drive away the womens' vote? |

Seems to me that a rapist does not deserve to have their genes procreated to the next generation. If it's offensive, get rid of it. |

Another nut case. Congress is full of them, we need to call for pest control. |

I guess you could blame Obama. They really seemed to come out of the woodwork after his election as POTUS. Kind of reminds me of the Jim Crowe reaction after civil war reconstruction period. Then it was fear of blacks taking over and getting their white women. Now, it's socialism/communism and the big government takeover and loss of liberty. Still driven by fear, paranoia and falsehoods though. |

I'm not hearing much of that or reading it. I think people are just fed up with the guy making excuses and blaming everybody else for his failure to get the job done. This isn't rocket science. He'll either squeak by with a razor thin win or go down. If he wins, he will put in deep freeze by congress.

It took more than one term for FDR to get us out of the depression. And, Hoovers limited government wasn't doing the job in the 3 years he had. What we need is massive stimulus, and tax to pay for it, and to pay on the national debt. But, the GOP obstructionists will allow no increase. If it weren't for the big GOP gains in congress in 2010, it would have already been a done deal and we would be on our way to prosperity. |
