They do that in ball games too. Get a comfortable lead and then go to a prevent defense. Don't make any mistakes, keep the ball in front of you, and don't let the losing party get a cheap score. Mitt was a success in that regard. |

you are kidding right? While Monday night’s presidential debate was largely uneventful, there were still some noteworthy moments. Among them was when the president took a condescending tone and mocked Mitt Romney for critiquing Obama on military cuts. According to Obama, Romney just doesn’t understand that America has advanced technologically, and just like American now has less “horses and bayonets” we now have less Navy ships, too. “We have these things called aircraft carriers, where planes land on them,” Obama said smugly. “We have these ships that go under water — nuclear submarines.” Additionally, the audience broke the rules mentioned by moderator Bob Schieffer at the beginning: members laughed when Obama took a jab at Romney’s comment that important information can be found on the candidate’s website. “We visited the website quite a bit, and it still doesn’t work,” Obama said. |

Thr Prevent Defence loses a lot of football games that should have been won. That's also the strategy Obama used in Debate #1. Edited by Brewster, Oct 23 2012, 11:34 AM.

I don't see a way in the world that Obama's performance will stop the bleeding. |

Out tonight, will watch later. Early opinion pols are saying Obama won it handily, but I will make my own judgement. What I have heard on the radio later was that Romney needs a geography lesson, claiming Iran needs Syria's access to the sea when it has its own sea access and does not even border Syria. Sarah Palin version 2? Did he really say that? |

Jobs and the economy, Pat? Do you think the American public is too stupid to remember which party got them into this mess? And too stupid to know which party blocked virtually every effort to get them out while they played political games trying to make Obama look bad? Maybe you're right, maybe Americans are idiots. I'm betting not. Edited by Brewster, Oct 23 2012, 12:00 PM.
