Almost time to put those 2 gnats on ignore. I hate doing that but they add nothing to any conversation. |

I have, and it's done wonders for my blood pressure, while not affecting the number of facts I've collected in any way.

Given enough time and curiosity, there is bound to be one or more huge breakthroughs in our quest for a substitute for conventional oil. I'm not sure if it would work or what the cost would be, but setting up a small wind turbine or a solar panel, and letting the process work day in and day out, even if you could harvest a tank full of gas a year, it's a start. There was a guy on the radio who has been running his corvette for years on hydrogen. He has the system set up at home and has not bought a gallon of gasoline in along while. I think the best bang for the buck until an alternative that makes sense comes along, is engineering less weight, more aerodynamics, better bears with less friction, and other such design features into cars and trucks. And of course making the engine and drive trains for efficient. |

I tried using synthetic oil in a brand new generator I bought. It ran quieter and for about 20% longer than the owners manual said on a full tank of gas. At the price of gas, it has been a homerun. |

There are lots of ways to store energy in a form that can be burned in an internal combustion engine, the real questions are the cost of building the conversion mechanism and the efficiency with which you store the energy. The ease of long term storage and handling also have to figure in to the viability of the system. |
