hmm! Tax cuts to boost the economy. Is Merkel some kind of nut? Brew's not going to like this.
Most would agree that there is some merit to the Laffler curve argument. But, the disagreement is where is the maximum revenue point. There is a good argument that it is at 70%, which is far above our current rate.

With Mitt paying 13%, and would have payed 10% if he weren't running for pres and took all his deductions being typical, it would appear we are far below the maximum revenue point. But, still the right is claiming that further tax cuts will boost the economy and increase revenue.

We've got an overload of investment capital. We need to use it to pay down the debt and stimulate demand by raising taxes on that sector and investing it into infrastructure, technology and education.

If tax cuts are going to help the economy in Germany why will it not work here?

Germany didn't put two wars, high priced drugs and a previous tax cut on it's credit cards! German plan will put money in the hands of those who will spend it unlike the cino's plans here.

Which has nothing to do with making the economy grow. My question still stands.

But who is going to foot most of the NATO operations? Of the 28 membetr states, how many and in what proportion contributed to the Libyan Humanitarian Effort? How much did Germany contribute, any troops sent there.... it was to their oil benefit? Most NATO nations contributed nothing. And if Syria (since Turkey is involved and a NATO member) becomes a "humanitarian effort," what NATO nations will contribute troops and munitions and at what proportion. My point is, in those efforts, it is expected (almost demanded) that the US be involved. All the European nations should have there financials in good shape for that reason alone.... they don't and aren't expected (with the exception of France and GB) to finance military action..... but they want it if it benefitls them.
