Romney Won The Second Debate

Morris nails it in my estimation. I suppose Obama looked good to the libs because he wasn't comatose this time.

By scoring big on the economy, gas prices, and Libya, Romney continued his victorious string of debate wins. He looked more presidential than Obama did and showed himself to be an articulate, capable, attractive, compassionate leader with sound ideas.

Obama came over as boorish and Biden-esque. He did not learn from his Vice President's mistakes. When a president gets into a bar room brawl, he loses his dignity and his aura, key assets for an incumbent. Romney was polite but firm. Obama seemed quarrelsome, frustrated, nasty, and cranky.

But the key reason for the Romney win was substantive:

1. Romney made very clear the case against Obama's economic record and Obama's rebuttal about 5 million jobs was pathetic.

2. Romney injected the China issue, big time, and tapped into a strong public sentiment on the issue.

3. Romney made the effective case that Obama is anti-oil, coal, and gas and that this has doubled gas prices.

4. Romney was very effective in differentiating himself from Bush-43 and in establishing that, unlike the GOP of the past, he was for small businesses not big businesses

5. Romney rebutted the attacks on him over Chinese investments.

6. Romney explained his tax plan well and to everyone's satisfaction.

7. Obama erred in trying to make us believe that he always felt Libya was a terror attack. We all heard him blame the movie.

Obama scored points over the 47% statement by Romney, immigration, and by his response to the accusation that he went to Vegas after the murder of the Ambassador.

But this debate goes to Romney. It seals his momentum and will lead to a big win.

I'll give you that one. The recovery has been slow, but Obama has had no help from the GOP.

That's BS, he is playing games. He is not going to start a trade war with China if elected. And, the Obama administration has been pressing China on their currency right along, and unfair trade as well.

No he didn't. Obama showed that he had increased carbon energy while promoting green energy for the future as well. Obama told the truth, that when gas was cheap early in his presidency because there was a worldwide recession lowering demand for oil, and now demand is very high driving prices up. Seem like the free market right wing dings would know that the world market determines the price.

Balogny every candidate is for small business and the middle class. Romney's plan on the taxing side is the same old supply side BS the GOP has been pushing since Reagan. And, if he reverts to moderate Mitt, he will be like a Bush clone, but maybe a little smarter.

5. Romney rebutted the attacks on him over Chinese investments.

He tried to make the case that it was "the blind trust" administrator that did it. And, claimed if you have a 401K it's invested in China. The truth is he had no qualms about offshoring if it made him money.

6. Romney explained his tax plan well and to everyone's satisfaction.

Now, that has got to be the most ridiculous statement of all. His tax plan is voodo economics, the math don't add up.

He stated it was a terror attack the day after it happened. His only error was thinking it was motivated by the anti-Islam movie. And, it may have been, it just wasn't a mob that attacked.

Yes, Romney looked like a read head saying he went to Vegas at some point, and then Obama said he was at Dover to meet the caskets with the families. Mitt didn't back away from his illegal immigration plan as far as I thought he would. But, Obama nailed him with the show me your papers line. The 47% quote has been haunting Mitt, and I'm sure he wished he hadn't said it. I doubt he believes it, he was just stroking some wealthy right wingers. If you campaign telling people what they want to hear. Sooner or later their are bound to be some embarrassing contradictions. :teeth:
