That is not only an unfair characterization Joe but false. The company I founded employs (as of my last report) 684 people. We own buildings and have equipment and infrastructure. We are in and have been in this game for the long haul. But we have expanded internationally. Canada alone has nearly 200 employees.

Listen Joe, my game is coming to an end, none of this really affects me or the wife. But I have kids and grandkids and they will have the same. Conservatives are not privateers any more than liberals like the kennedys and Kerrys. Sure there are a few bad eggs. I'll put conservative patriotism up against Michelle Obama and the ilk any day. The woman detests our country.
Not unfair Pat, you have shown a propensity to attacking the left. Your actions of shipping jobs to even Canada should make you part of the problem not part of the solution. You cannot have it both ways Pat, either you are for America or against

Let's Take a Good Look at Romney's Five Point Plan:

Quote:

Part one of Mitt’s plan is to achieve energy independence on this continent by 2020. America is blessed with extraordinary natural resources, and developing them will create millions of good jobs – not only in the energy industry, but also in industries like manufacturing that will benefit from more energy at lower prices. America’s economy will boom when the billions of dollars we send overseas for our oil are kept here at home instead.
He's kidding, right?

Talk about a plan that will never work - Romney is pushing for more coal, more oil, more gas, all the old tricks, while ignoring new tech - but there is no way that those alone will do the job - let's look at Oil for example - since Obama took office, Oil exploration has doubled, production is higher than at any time in Bush's second term. And what has happened? Gasoline prices have risen by more than a dollar a gallon, and the Koch's fortunes have each risen by over $10 Billion.

Without renewables and efficiency regulations, the situation will continue to get worse, while the old energy companies get richer than ever.

Quote:

Part two of the plan is trade that works for America. Mitt believes that trade can offer enormous opportunities for American businesses and workers, but only if they are given a level playing field on which they can compete and win. That is why he will work to open new markets for American goods and services, while also confronting nations like China that cheat on trade and steal American jobs.
Totally silly - what new markets is he talking about?

Asia wants to export HERE, not import, He'll be lucky to break even. And has anybody noticed Europe's situation recently? How much expansion do you see there?

Harper is looking for new trading partners elsewhere, as he thinks Canada is already too closely linked to the US's sinking ship.

What other large markets does his fantasy world contain?

Maybe he intends to set up trade relations with Iran.

Quote:

Part three is to provide Americans with the skills to succeed through better public schools, better access to higher education, and better retraining programs that help to match unemployed workers with real-world job opportunities.
Give me a break! With what money?

The Republicans are SHUTTING DOWN schools, LAYING OFF teachers, not expanding!

Quote:

Part four is to cut the deficit, reducing the size of government and getting the national debt under control so that America remains a place where businesses want to open up shop and hire.
Nice words.

Not a single idea how to do it, other than to throw Granny off the cliff. He wants to INCREASE military spending by 2 Trillion$, and every time he talks about Obamacare these days, it's to mention one more aspect he's NOT going to kill.

The latest estimates by independent sources say that his plans will INCREASE the deficit, over and above Obama's total, by another 5 TRILLION$.

Go look back in History - find the last Republican President who ever decreased the deficit.

Quote:

Finally, part five of Mitt’s plan is to champion small business. Small businesses are the engine of job creation in this country, but they will struggle to succeed if taxes and regulations are too burdensome or if a government in Washington does its best to stifle them. Mitt will pursue comprehensive tax reform that lowers tax rates for all Americans, and he will cut back on the red tape that drives up costs and discourages hiring.

The Magic Man in action!

He's going to increase spending by 5 Trillion$ while decreasing taxes by some unspecified amount, and somehow out of that he's going to lower the deficit!

Harper and Merkel will be watching this magic act for hints...

You mean that Bertie's been supporting Romney all this time and doesn't even know what his plan is? :busted:

I guess, if you never care about facts anyway, why bother with details like that?
