You ought to be able to give to charity without expecting the government to subsidize it. And, most of the money given to churches isn't for charity anyway. I think people should do for themselves. If they do need help, the government should help them out, but not just cut them a check. Give them a job to do. The New Deal programs like the CCC got people out of poverty, taught them some skills and a work ethic. Unlike the Great Society Welfare that just gave them money and destroyed incentive. |

Yes, I agree that you think the government should do everything for you. You have made that abundantly clear. |

My take, yawn. No sleep again tonight. I posted the other day about the moderator going against agreed upon protocol and my fears came true. Obama was given nearly 10 more minutes by the moderator. This is two debates in a row that a mainstream media moderator has shortchanged the republican candidate. All concepts of an equal playing field have gone by the wayside. Now to the meat. Obama came out on fire and for the first few minutes, he overpowered the moderator and out shouted the governor. Romney began regaining his footing as I predicted he would, with the series of points he hammered home that were the grist of this entire campaign. Obama had done a good job of noting his leadership style, his caring for people, and his policies designed to meet the needs of middle America. the problem he ran into was as Mitt began listing the failures of his ideas to bear fruit. As one news story noted, Obama can not, he simply cannot run away from his record. His failure to deal with medicare and social security, his failure to address the 23,000,000 who need jobs, and the fact that the only reason unemployment was listed as 7.8% is because millions have dropped out of the job market. Romney hit home with the fact that real unemployment is in double digits. Libya, Romney caught the president in a lie on that one. And it is noted in the news article, Obama and his team spent days blaming the attack on a video. Plus Hillary's attempt at falling on the sword was washed away with Obama standing u[p and taking full responsibility. And Romney acknowledged his admission. Ouch! This is a hard debate TO GET A ARM AROUND BECAUSE THE MODERATOR JUST PLAIN LOST CONTROL HALF WAY THROUGH. i THOUGHT THE TWO GUYS WERE GOING TO FIST CITY AT ONE POINT. AND AS SHE ALLOWED OBAMA TO RANT ON, SHE REPEATEDLT SHUT DOWN ROMNEY AS HE ATTEMPTED TO RESPOND. That point again needed emphasis. While the format was supposed to focus on the undecided in the audience, instead we had a street rumble. Who won? I think Romeney did for this simple fact, every point Obama raised as far as his record goes was thrown back at him because everyone in the audience knows and Romney kept reminding them, the president failed to get America back to work and fix the economy. Aggression by the president could not make up for his record. It's his record against a guy who has been a success in life and is promising to do better on all fronts. Does America stand pat with what they have or move on? The final question was a big winner for Romney. He was asked what msiconceptions America has about him after all the attacks by the left. Bang, home run. |

So far we have Obama in at least two lies. Not just little fibs, but big lies. I was amazed at that focus group. I thought the debate was essentially a tie but they said it was a big Romney victory. |

Actually I would call it a tie also, at least as far as performance. Romney has yet to adequately explain how he is going to get all the money for the tax cuts, and increased military spending and still balance the budget. |

Crowley is the big loser, she tried to cheat for Obie. That Libya interruption by her was unprecedented and it was even a lie. |

Who would you prefer as a moderator. One of those intellectual giants from Fox? How about Limbaugh? Now that would be funny. |

I believe Tom, we need an unbiased moderator, these media talking heads cannot keep the playing filed fair. |
