Unless you've lived the experience in a town like this it's hard to really know the feeling:

Allentown

We could experience it again. In some places, it has never ended.

"Well we're living here in Allentown
And they're closing all the factories down
Out in Bethlehem they're killing time
Filling out forms
Standing in line
Well our fathers fought the Second World War
Spent their weekends on the Jersey Shore
Met our mothers in the USO
Asked them to dance
Danced with them slow
And we're living here in Allentown

But the restlessness was handed down
And it's getting very hard to stay

Well we're waiting here in Allentown
For the Pennsylvania we never found
For the promises our teachers gave
If we worked hard
If we behaved
So the graduations hang on the wall
But they never really helped us at all
No they never taught us what was real
Iron and coke
And chromium steel
And we're waiting here in Allentown

But they've taken all the coal from the ground
And the union people crawled away

Every child had a pretty good shot
To get at least as far as their old man got
But something happened on the way to that place
They threw an American flag in our face

Well I'm living here in Allentown
And it's hard to keep a good man down
But I won't be getting up today

And it's getting very hard to stay
And we're living here in Allentown

Sounds like Romney's theme song.

The song can be replicated nationwide. Just change the name of the town, state, and industry.

A guy started a Facebook page on Olympia, my home town. It's devoted to early memories from the 40's and 50's with some 60's. Photos and first hand accounts. Well over 200 participating. One post covers the Olympia Brewery. Until Miller bought it out and ruined it, it was a thriving local operation, employing hundreds in good jobs.

Nothing remains the same. Change happens.

Yea, but we were "hoping" that "change" was going to be for the better.

I believe it has been for the better. All one need do is look at things from a reasonable viewpoint. I can list all the things that are better now than when Obama took office, but it's been done numerous times and you just ignore it.

You want to back that up with some significant corroborative facts. And you have to weigh the good with the bad, otherwise it's just biased nonsense.... and the favoritive corroborative info should come from an unbiased source.

So, tell me what unbiased source you will accept.

"I believe it has been for the better"

Those are the operative words, Ban. I said I "believe" it. That doesn't make it true. The items Colo listed in another thread would lead one to believe that Obama has had a productive first term. You can discount them if you choose.
