If you're fat and either insured or on Medicaid/Medicare you can get a nice way to get fatter for free! Food addiction is now just like drugs and alcohol, a disability.

Wrong. The ads say with Medicare and a supplement you could pay little or nothing. Medicare pays 80% for durable medical goods. Supplemental insurance would have to pay the rest.

Try again.

Jim,
People with no self-control both amuse and disgust me, allowing these same people to abuse the system infuriates me! I see most overweight people in the same group as drug addicts.

More like trolling mixed with personal attack. The kind of schtick that kills discussion.

Pat,
I'm not joking in the least. You don't seriously think that all the powered fatty mobiles you see around were sold to the owners do you? Even the Wal-Mart scooters are 100% paid for by taxpayers, total write-off under disabilities law.

You can't be forced to lose weight, but the fatties can force you to pay for their scooters, either as a government handout or through higher insurance costs.

"Even the Wal-Mart scooters are 100% paid for by taxpayers, total write-off under disabilities law."

Another false statement. Medicare pays only 80% for durable medical goods.

!00% write off of Wal-Mart store scooters is a !00% loss of revenue, does Wal-Mart sell scooters as well, didn't realize that they did.

Also the scooters are overpriced and most scooter dealers "forgive" any cost not covered, same trick the "no-cost" mail-order drug houses use.

It doesn't say free through Medicare, it says little or know cost depending on insurance coverage.

From http://www.medicare.gov/publications/pubs/pdf/11045.pdf: "Generally, you pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after you pay your Medicare Part B deductible for the year ($135 in 2009). Medicare pays the other 80%."
