It looks like the FEC only has a mandate to examine financing of elections with no powers to set voting procedures or investigate voting abuse, so I am guessing its up to the courts & lawyers to try to straighten that out.

Hmmmmm. Conservaties attempting to reduce the number of voters.
Sounds very familiar. Do conservatives everywhere make that attempt?

I thought we had the ultimate dirty tricks master in Karl Rove. Have we beeen bested by Canadians?

Right, seems different on that level, but don't you think there should be accountability at the federal level for federal elections? .

No, I'd prefer to leave it to the states.

Anyway, all I'm saying is we do have government watchdogs. But quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

So so far it's tied to a fake name Pierre Poutine?

In the US we have a national Do Not Call list you can put your phone on. This aimed only at marketing calls but it would be great if it included politicking calls.

We do as well, but political calls are exempted from it.

I suspect the Pierre Poutine thing will turn out to be the real story, and it has nothing to do the the Conservative party at all, although I must admit they've done some dumb things recently.

But like all political stories, no matter what's found, some dirt will stick, and those with anti-Conservative sentiments will hang onto it like a drowning man to a life preserver.
