Reading the various threads dealing with abortion, I got to thinking about what decision for themselves people actually make . Specifically I know of two posters whose spouses and themselves were confronted by their medical providers with the option of abortion. Ken's family and mine made different decisions and both were glad to have had the opportunity to make the decision for ourselves. I wonder how many others that would be glad to make those decision for us have actually confronted the dame decisions for themselves. T^o how many posters here is such a decision just hypothetical.

Too bad the unborn child isn't a consideration.

I take it, from the absolute paucity of answers to my question that Ken and I are the only one's here who have made a decision for ourselves. All others just want to make a decision for others.
That is pretty much as I suspected. Apparently that applies as much to self identified libertarians as anyone else.

You didn't make a decision for your self, though. You made a life and death decision for an unborn child. One decided that the child had some value and one decided that the child didn't have as much value as their comfort and convenience.

No, Jim, we decided to roll the dice and got lucky. I am confident that neither of us who made the choice in any way devalued the fetus, nor did we consider the fetus a "child." I also do not believe that either of us made the choice for "convenience." The most important fact is that we got to make the choice. Of course you and some others here who have never had the opportunity or necessity to make such a decision for yourselves, you are determined to make the decision for others.

Jim never had to face this decision but if he had someone would have made it for him. This is evidenced by his spineless claim that he was "forced" to join the teacher's union..
