I believe this man's comments today disqualify him from the office of president of the United States. For him to take the oath of office would be one of the greater lies of the past 236 years. He's in your bedroom, your relationships, and now your constitution and bill of rights. I can just see the expression on Ron Paul's face when he heard these quotes. Scary is not a strong enough word to describe this nitwit. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/26/santorum-church-and-state_n_1302246.html Rick Santorum on Sunday took on separation of church and state. "I don't believe in an America where the separation of church and state are absolute," he told 'This Week' host George Stephanopoulos. "The idea that the church can have no influence or no involvement in the operation of the state is absolutely antithetical to the objectives and vision of our country...to say that people of faith have no role in the public square? You bet that makes me want to throw up." The GOP candidate was responding to comments he made last October. He had said that he "almost threw up" after reading JFK's 1960 speech in which he declared his commitment to the separation of church and state. Santorum also on Sunday told Meet The Press host David Gregory that separation of church and state was "not the founders' vision." The GOP candidate has been doubling down on religious rhetoric in an effort to court evangelical voters ahead of Super Tuesday. Last week, he questioned Obama's spiritual beliefs. "[Obama believes in] some phony ideal, some phony theology ... not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology," he said. |

Between the nutcases fielded by the GOP and the ever improving economy, Obama should have no problem sleeping at night! |

He's a politician, not a statesman. I'm not going to go into what he might or might not believe. To a politician its more important what they think potential voters believe, such as legalizing theft is no longer theft. As for "...separation of church and state was "not the founders' vision.", Madison wrote extensively on the subject and his writings are unambiguous. Here's one of the more pointed quotes IMHO: "Nothwithstanding the general progress made within the two last centuries in favour of this branch of liberty, & the full establishment of it, in some parts of our Country, there remains in others a strong bias towards the old error, that without some sort of alliance or coalition between Gov' & Religion neither can be duly supported: Such indeed is the tendency to such a coalition, and such its corrupting influence on both the parties, that the danger cannot be too carefully guarded agst.. And in a Gov' of opinion, like ours, the only effectual guard must be found in the soundness and stability of the general opinion on the subject. Every new & successful example therefore of a perfect separation between ecclesiastical and civil matters, is of importance. And I have no doubt that every new example, will succeed, as every past one has done, in shewing that religion & Gov will both exist in greater purity, the less they are mixed together;..." [James Madison, Letter to Edward Livingston, July 10, 1822, The Writings of James Madison, Gaillard Hunt] |

The right has several nutcases/nutjobs (labels are interchangable), the left has one skinny nutjob that plays a tune that only they can't resist. They close their eyes and listen for the sound telling them where the trough is. It's a father figure tune and daddy wouldn't tell them anything that wasn't in their best interest. They are loyal beyond understanding to their nutcase, a wolf in gray sheep clothing. I just hope that anything he may do in the next 5 years won't hurt Canada any. The majority are fiscal conservatives up there; but how the US goes, so goes Canada, unfortunately. But, I don't think the US libs are too worried about what happens to Canada, unlike us conservatives. Maybe we will sneak Cristie in at the last moment before the libs can mount a "nutcase" campaign and save the US and Canada from the "dingbat/meathead" class, as my good friend Archie Bunker would say. |

Yes Canada continues to suffer under Obama! A high stock market market, Great car sales, Low interest rates, ever increasing exports. Canada and Canadians have nothing to gain by having anyone of the current field of religious, right wing fruit cakes as President of the United States. |
