Once Murdoch's Newscorp bought Wall Street Journal, any credibility of objective journalism went out the window. And, it became another avenue for him to use his news outlets to promote his other business interests.

Last year, News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch joined the "Strategic Advisory Board" of Genie Energy, and purchased an equity stake in Genie Oil and Gas, which consists of Genie Energy's interests in oil shale initiatives on federal land in Western Colorado and in Israel's Elah Valley. Genie Energy -- which is a division of IDT Corporation, a global telecommunications company -- has attracted several other high-profile advisers and investors, including former Vice President Cheney, Lord Jacob Rothschild, and Michael Steinhardt, a prominent hedge fund investor and philanthropist.

Therein lies the flaw in the thinking of those who think very limited government and wide open laizes faire economics is a good thing. Control of media enfluencing public opinon to favor them doing whatevery they want even if it's rape of the environment.

1.
appealing to one's prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to one's intellect or reason.

2.
attacking an opponent's character rather than answering his argument.

Really? I provided the link to the article demonstrating his conflict of interest. And, there are numerous examples of the excesses of the Murdoch media empire. Another example is the phone hacking scandal in GB.

Well said. You made a coherent, rational argument, and supported it with facts.

Unfortunately, this is the Internet. There's no place for that kind of talk here.

I'm afraid Mike may have to ask you to refrain from such inflammatory posts here on F&I.

Yes, and in doing so you are attacking the messenger instead of the message. That is called ad hom.

Yes, his conflict of interest may raise suspicions, but that is insufficient. You need to still show any argument by the WSJ is factually and/or logically wrong.

Naturally, you would support logical fallacies.

Tom the bogey man exists only in movies, books and your imagination. Why are you assuming that because a guy owns something, that he will abuse the position?

Rather like the boogey man you have set up to represent Obama, Pat?

Murdoch has been shown to do far worse than O, including lying, on three continents.LINK

But a few innuendos from the Far Right Blogosphere and you're willling to believe ANYTHING about Obama.

Whether you know it or not, he's already bought your vote.
