Many of the roads are still gravel, can't maintain paved roads with the frost heaves. We made it back with paint intact but had to replace both windshields. |

The roads between about Whitehorse and the border are mostly gravel and better roads that many of the paved roads in the lower 48. And they were experimenting with vent shafts and different materials to try to get paved roads to stay. But as far as I know they still rebuild the roads in that area every summer. |
