Wow! Some said she couldn't be competitive in stock cars. She is the first woman to win a pole position at Daytona. Go Danica!

There was an article recently that implied she got in because team and car owners trade "points" and one can almost "buy" a spot in the race.

I watched the time trials today on television. She WON the pole position based on her time trial time. I don't know how Eric could have read an article about this race when the time trials just happened a few minutes ago.

Apparently, like many drivers, she is racing in both the Sprint Cup series and the Nationwide series.

The article focused on NASCAR rules, and how the points trading system allowed just about anyone to buy their way into the race. Maybe she was guaranteed to be in it, but once on the list she won the pole.

I'll look for the article. It was a few weeks ago and I may have gotten it wrong...

A couple of articles that explain what I was trying to say.

She did not earn her way into the Daytona 500 and will run qualifying only to determine her starting position. Someone else earned enough points to get in, but Patrick’s team, Stewart-Haas Racing, bought that someone’s points, painted another car with that someone’s number and called Patrick a success.

Okay. She still won the pole position for the nationwide race on Saturday.

She's HOT. Who cares where she sits. I'd like her to sit beside me. Or, maybe in my lap. That's the only lap I can think of better...lol. One gorgeous gal there. I even think Ashley Force is good looking, just not as Danica.
